Disneyland Paris trip report | Day 1 | Part 2

So now we are on part two of day one of our amazing Disney trip

So next up we went on the Alice in Wonderland maze. This one you just walk around, so you can take it at your own pace and the views from the top are amazing and great for photos. We then spent some more time around Fantasyland just walking around and taking it in all in.
I wanted to get Little Miss P to try a few of the bigger rides but as it was the first day we thought we would take it slow with her. Some of the other rides we went on were Big Thunder Mountain (which is Little Miss P's favourite ride, she would go on that ride all day if she could), Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast which is always fun, Blanche-neige et les sept nains, Les voyages de Pinocchio and I did also get her on Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril which went upside down and she loved it. We didn't know it went upside down until we got to the front of the queue but she was still a great sport and went on it. She was terrified but after that she loved it, which I was so happy about. So now we can go on more fast and thrilling rides as a family.

That night we were going to go back to the hotel but come across all the people waiting for the fireworks so we found a space and stayed and watched it. It is a great show, and I do love fireworks.

It was a very enjoyable day.

Disneyland Paris trip report | Day 1 | Part One

Wow it was a very early morning for the first day of the adventure. We woke up at about 4:30am to leave the house for 5am to get the ferry in time, for which you have to be there 45 minutes before the ferry leaves. We made it to the ferry in perfect time as we got let straight on and the ferry even left early, which was nice.

As soon as we got on the ferry we went to have a nice fry up to start the day. We arrived at Calais early due to the ferry leaving early and got straight on the road.  There was a bit of traffic so the satnav took us on a detour, which was nice not going all the way on the motorway.

We got to Disneyland Paris at about 2pm which was great as we had the rest of the afternoon in the park. Once in the hotel Santa Fe it was a nice surprise that our room was already ready for us. So of course we went to our room to drop our stuff off. We stayed in 'Mater' Room 210, 2nd floor.

The room was surprisingly nice but I’ll go into more details on my Santa Fe room blog post soon.

Of course the first park we went into was the Disney Park as on the first day I always have to see the castle.  It’s just a thing that we do.  I always get an amazing feeling as soon as I first see the castle walking down Main Street even though it was pretty cold that day.  Well actually the first thing we do is pick up a map,  because knowing me I would get lost around the park.

The first ride we went on was the Carousel because it actually had the shortest wait time,  and who doesn’t love going on the carousel.  We decided to stick around Fantasyland and go on It’s A Small World even though I can never get that tune out of my head afterwards.
After coming off It’s A Small World we saw people starting to sit down and then realised the parade   was going to happen within an hour, so we decided to take a seat right at the front while the husband went to get us ice creams.  The Ice Cream counter where we were sitting had just closed so he had to walk down to Main Street to get them (more details about this little story as it took him about 45 minutes to get to the ice creams). The parade is amazing and Donald Duck wanted some of the ice cream(!), and it was great to see the dragon blow out fire, which I still find amazing at the grand old age of 32.

I don't normally do long blog posts so I will be putting part two of day 1 up next week.
