Cirque Du Soleil

Cirque Du Soleil

We booked this a while ago and asked our family if they wanted to come and see Cirque du Soleil with us. Some of Mr P's family said yes expect the older sister and her family, but they do live in Devon.
So on 14th Jan Mr P's Mum, Dad and Sister plus family (The Woolfalls) all came over to ours first for a 'rustic BBQ' - yes, a BBQ in the middle of winter - but that's my hubby for you! On the way to the station we dropped Little Miss P off to Nanny's house for the night as she would have been scared of it and i really wanted to enjoy myself with a glass of wine.

Miss Woolfall, Little Miss P and  Little Mr Woolfall

So we jumped on the train at Woodford station all wondering what it would be like and if we would enjoy it. The train journey itself was fun, with all of us talking and Little Mr Woolfall dancing around the pole with help from Mr P.

We got to the Royal Albert Hall in good time so we got ourselves a drink and popcorn. We found where our seats were... great in the 5th row from the front - we were so close! We couldn't take any photos inside the Royal Albert Hall :0( but the show was phenomenal - we did lots of wows and 'oh my, i cant watch that', but the best bit for me was the ladies on unicycles throwing things on each others' heads... doesn't sound much fun but oh my it was, just how did they do it... i will never know.

Everyone should go and see them even if you don't think you will like it (even Mr P's Mum enjoyed it!)... you will too, just don't take children under the age of about 7 as it might be a bit too scary for them.

This is what happens after a good night out... and i wasn't drunk x

Peter Pan Panto

 Peter Pan Panto
@ Sir James Hawkey Hall
Woodford

Little Miss P could not wait to go and see Peter Pan. When she got to Nanny's, Tinkerbell had left a Tinkerbell fancy dress outfit behind, so as most three year olds would do, she put it on and looked so cute in it.

She was so excited with some sweets for the show. Nanny, Little Miss Henderson and I took our seats and waited... then the lights went out and Little Miss P was scared. She covered her eyes and cried so i had to take her outside for a bit to calm down. We went back in a little bit at a time and towards the end she was up dancing loving every bit of it. Can't wait to take Little Miss P to see one next year. x

That's Christmas out the way x

Christmas has gone, i have put on weight and don't have much money left. Saying that, we all had a great Christmas, Little Miss P got so much - not from me or Mrs P but from everyone else. We spent £80 on Summer and £15 on each other as we don't have the money and have a big family to get for. We spent all together about £250 on everyone.

Now that's Christmas out the way we have to live to our means again as i really want to start my own business in the next few years (really want to do it this year but not too sure what yet). As well as that i would like to take Little Miss P to Disneyworld in 2016 when she's seven years old, but if we keep living like we do, this will never happen. So only one takeway a month, start a meal planner and save my £2 coins in a little pot.

Saving for my dreams - Disney

Mr P got me a little pressie a while ago, it's a Pot of Dreams from Clinton Cards. It says on it "This money pot is for hopes and schemes to help you save for all your dreams". So every time i get a £2 coin i put in my little Pot of Dreams. It's been 3 months and i have £40 in it. So that is £40 for our trip to Disney in four years' time (2015)... I really need to start saving more because at this rate we will never get there. I have to save at least £8,000, that makes it £2,000 a year. I think i just need to pray for a lump some of money to land on my lap.

Well here's to trying :-)

Meet Me at the Cupcake Café

Meet Me at the Cupcake Café
      by Jenny Colgan

      About the book
Come and meet Issy Randall - proud owmer of the Cupcake Café.

Issy Randall can bake... no, more than that - Issy can create stunning, mouth-wateringly divine cakes.
After a childhood spent in her beloved Grandpa's bakery she inherited his talent.
When she's made redundant from her safe but dull city job Issy decides to seize the moment. Surrounded by recipes from Grandpa, and with her best friends and local bank manager fighting her corner, the Cupcake Café opens its doors. But Issy has absolutely no idea what she's let herself in for.
It will take all her courage - and confectionery - to avert disaster.

      My View

I loved this book... it makes you want to go and seize the moment yourself and take a risk to see what happens. If you're lucky like Issy it will all work out in the end. This book allows us to escape off into your own world. Each character has their own distinct personality with their own problems and quirks.
I'll be looking to try more of Colgan's books in the future.

       I recommend reading it!

Saving for Little Miss P's future.

We're trying to put some money away each month for Little Miss P's future. We put away between £10-£20 a month. So far we have saved £880 for her to put towards a house deposit, driving lessons or uni. I know £880 is not going to do much but if we keep saving for her the way we are it will add up to a good amount in the end... and the great thing is that she can't get her hands on it until she's 18 years old!!

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside.

Yes i know it's winter... just a bit late putting this up. x

When we got that really nice weather back in September we packed our bags and went to the Isle of Wight for a few days and what a great few days we had. It was Little Miss P's first time on a real beach with no pebbles on. We stayed in the Premier Inn as we like the morning breakfast :-)
The best part of our little holiday was going to Sandown for the day to play on the beach. And oh my what a great idea that was. Little Miss P loved every minute of it and the best part for her was splashing in the sea and getting burried in the sand by me.

As well i meant to say that i had a whole day of sitting on a deck chair reading my book, getting a little bit of a tan, not that you can tell now. I did have a little splash in the sea with Little Miss P, but i did leave Mr P to do that mostly though... sorry hun.

Hope you all had a great Christmas!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year everyone hope you all had a good time.

This Christmas was a good one, we had a lazy morning at home first. Saw Little Miss P open her pressies, then we went off to my mummy's house for Christmas dinner. My big sister Mrs Hill with her family were over, and my Nanna was down for Xmas as well. Mum always makes nice Christmas dinner even tho there is always too much!...  but it wouldn't be Christmas without it.

We didn't spend a fortune on Little Miss P as she's got way too much already. So it was one main pressie and a few others that I knew she would like.

This is her main pressie - kiddiezoom digital carmara - she asked for it and she loves it. She hasn't put it down so i am so glad Father Christmas got it for her.

This is The Terrible Greedy Fossifoo by Charles Fuge. Little Miss P always got this book out of the library everytime, so in the end i had to tell her that other little girls and boys wanted to read it. She didn't like me saying that. After a while she forgot about the book until Christmas Day she opened it and gave it a big hug and asked us to read it. That's even before she opened the rest of the pressies.

Little Miss P got more but that's all for another blog post.

      Love

      The Secret Shopper's Revenge

      The Secret Shopper's Revenge
      By Kate Harrison

      About the book:
Single mum Emily wants revenge on the stick-thin assistants who laugh at her post-baby tummy and post-baby budget. Store Manager Sandie has a lifelong love of retail - until she's stitched up by her ambitious deputy. And glamorous widow Grazia can't leave behind the high life, despite her chronically low bank balance.

Together they're 'Charlie's shopping Angels', controlled by a mysterious figure who send them assignments from heaven - and the occasional one from hell......

      My View
I like this book... anyone should read this and you will love this book - especially anyone who loves shopping! I was hooked into the story from the first page. Emily was the best and main character who i could relate to the most (post-baby tummy and post-baby budget). All of the book was great... the one downside is that the ending was a bit rushed. That's why it got 4/5.

The Try Something New Revolution x

I have joined the Channel 4 try something new Revolution.

It started today and i am going to give it a good go.

      Day one:
I want you to turn your thermostat down by 1 degree.
Done this one. I just turned off the heating altogether and put a jumper on.

I want you to say thank you to someone that you’ve always meant to thank…
My Husband. I should say thank you to him everyday as he does a lot for this little family.

Earn your biscuit! You need to do 45 seconds of star jumps first
Well i did 30 star jumps today. I don't have a clue how long it took but i did 30.

      Mrs P

      Wish me luck
