Dear so and so

I use to do blog posts like this and I enjoyed them so I'm definitely bring these back this year. This is a little description on what Dear so and so is all about; it can pretty much be about anything but mainly about what's got you angry or upset, or something that you don't quite understand. Now let's get into it.

Dear Woman in Tesco
My little Tesco down the road has one scan your self till and it has always had a separate line, which I always go to as it is card only. I went to it as I normally do and then someone else in the other line said I am waiting for that. So I did let them in front of me and I moved back into the other line. She was having a right moan about it still while she was waiting for the other lady in front of her to finish, and then I got to the till before she did and she was moaning even more. The fact is if she didn't moan so much I would have let her in front of me in the other line as I am nice like that, but as she was being a right cow, I wasn't going to. I think she got what she deserved that time.

Dear The Thorns in the Garden
I am not a gardener. If it wasn't for the spiders and the wasps I would be ok with it, but there seems to be loads in my garden and while cutting a bush down (only making it smaller) the thorns got stuck in my arm, foot, hands and even down my top. I had about three spiders on me that I saw and can't remember the number of wasps I saw, but saying that I think I did a good job and will be back out there to do some more.

Dear Claire's Accessories
I went into this shop to find a few things for Little Miss P's party as it's a girly shop so I thought it would be ideal. But I walked in and two girls were having their ears pierced as it's free at the moment. But it took the two staff members to do it so no one was at the till. They saw me waiting and didn't even say anything like "be right with you" let alone for one of them to come over. So I left my things at the till and walked out.

Little Miss P

Well she's not so much Little Miss P now as she is 5ft tall and is now into double digits, she is now my 10 year old tween, who so far has turned out a well mannered if a bit shy young lady who tries to step out of her comfort zone. And that's what I love about her; she likes to try and make new friends and not to stick to the same ones, of course she still has her main group of friends that she can trust.

This is the year I have definitely seen her grow up and I am not going to lie it's a little bit scary. I'm not at the point yet where she's into boys luckily but she's definitely at the stage of her changing temper. All I can do is be there to support her at the moment.

Other things I am realising at the moment is at school she's a little bit behind in English, but is doing fantastically in science and maths. I think she's getting a little upset sometimes with English, but every time I try and help her at home she tries not to do it. I have learnt one way to get her reading though and that is her reading to one of her teddy bears, well I sit in the kitchen trying to overhear it.

I wish for Little Miss P To jump out of her comfort zone a bit more, and when she's enjoying things to actually look like she is enjoying them (she gets this from her dad), to have fun and be confident and don't take anything to heart if someone puts you down. You will always have your family around to support you, hold your hand and give you a big hug.

I think the next year will bring her out of her comfort zone, well I hope it does anyway.

I can't wait to see her grown up but I'm also a little upset that she's not my baby any more and I have to let go of the reins a little bit more.

Marie Antoinette - Film Review

This film review is all about the film Marie Antoinette. I loved this film when I was about 20 years old, it stars Kirsten Dunst and it's all about her life. I was bored the other day so I thought I would re-watch it and I still enjoyed it, just not as much as I did when I was in my 20s.

This film is definitely a chick flick, it's all about Marie Antoinette when she became the Queen of France. She was very young and she was betrothed to King Louis XVI at the age of 14. It brings to life a new a interpretation of the teenage queen, she is a very beautiful but naive queen and enters the French courts, which have a lot of conspiracy and lots of scandal. Without any guidance she turns into a young girl rebel and she is known as the most misunderstood French monarch.

I have to say my favourite bit in the movie is when they're trying on all the dresses, make up and different hairstyles. Outfits of that time were absolutely amazing. It's the famous scene where she says "Let them eat cake" and in that scene they have lots of different cakes and macaroons there. It's just a very bright, colourful and fun part of the film.

Honestly I think this film is definitely designed for the teenage to 20s audience, but I did still enjoy it.

As I used to promote my daughter's vlog I will be doing that again for her so this week's one is when we went to see Taylor Swift...

Teacher'sGifts

It's that time of year again when we have to look for teachers' gifts. I don't like doing the normal things for people but I like chocolate and flowers. I think they must go through lots of chocolate and flowers as you just see everyone bringing them in. I like something slightly different, not completely out there as I would hope the teachers like it, and it's actually kind of easy to buy for a woman teacher, but for a man teacher it's really hard. So I thought I'd give you some ideas for both women and men teachers, that are not just flowers or chocolate's.

 First, for a woman teacher...
Stationery, everyone loves a bit of stationery. A lovely pen, notepad or to do lists. You can buy them from pretty much anywhere depending on your budget. If you're after something cheap you go to the pound shop and pick up some lovely things or if you have a bit more money places like Clintons or W H Smith, they always have a lovely stationery section.

Beauty products, you need to know the teacher for this one and that you think they have helped your kid out a lot. A nice bottle of perfume if you know what make they use, or a lovely smelling bubble bath and candles.

Now for the men...
To tell you the truth I actually don't know what's best to get men teachers as Little Miss P has never had one, but if she ever gets one this is what I will get them. The first one would be homemade brownies, or some sort of traybake. Or perhaps a really nice tie.

Alcohol as most men drink alcohol, so I think this one is a safe bet. But not wine, maybe a spirit. Or a few flavoured beers.

Yep that is pretty much all I've got for the men teachers, sorry.

But most of all when you go and buy their presents just try think about how you would feel if you got it and if you would like it.

Disney Wishlist

I have seen this in a YouTube video and I am thinking about doing it on my Disney YouTube channel, Parkers Do Disney. But this also works well with a blog post, so here  I am. I will only keep it to five things on the Disney wishlist and keep it to Disney World things only.
As I always do, I will start with number 5.

5) Go on a shopping spree. I know this will be extremely dangerous and very bad for our bank account, but it would so much fun and all the things would look so good in our house and on me, mainly the bags hanging off my shoulder. They have so many nice bags in the shops.

4) Get a group photo with all the Disney Princesses together with you in the middle. I don't think I have ever seen a photo like this but how amazing would it be to get. My daughter would really like this to happen too.

3) Go to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. It would be amazing to see all the villains out and about as you don't normally get to see them any other time of the year. And to do trick or treating in the Disney parks.

2) Stay in every Disney hotel from the value ones to the top ones where it would cost an arm and a leg to stay there. So far I have stayed in two. First trip was Caribbean Beach resort and our last trip was Port Orleans Riverside. Both have been very nice and I would stay in them again.

1) Own a house on Disney Property. You can now buy your own house on Disney property and the place is called Golden Oak. We went past this place every single day from our hotel to one of the parks. The houses cost between $2-3 million, but they all look amazing. As you're on Disney property it will only take you a few minutes to get to the parks. I know this one will probably never happen but a girl can dream.

I lost it for a bit

So over the month of February and March I think I've lost the idea of doing the blogs and YouTube, even though at the beginning of the year I said I'm going to do it every single week and I just haven't. I don't know why, I just seem to have lost the enthusiasm of doing it. But now I've had a great week away with my family in Disney World Orlando and I am back to feeling energised and motivated to do it! So although I failed the first three months of the year I'm back. I'm planning not to work my arse off on this though, I actually just do this for pleasure and I have missed doing it.

It was nice taking those two months off, as you can see from the last week I've just uploaded some January ones that I did and just didn't upload.

I have a few plans for my blog which I am pretty excited about, but most of the plans won't be done till next year now.

I will be posting similar contents, I'm also hoping to be posting more Disney things as I'm a big Disney fan. Also day-to-day life and everything else in between. My aim is to still put to blog post up a week, but there will definitely be one a week and that will always be a Thursday.

Let's see if can now continue the rest of this year how I plan to.

Disney Holiday Shopping

Yes we are going to Disney World this year and I have already started shopping, mainly because every time I go in to Primark there are some lovely new Disney things in there. Some really nice Disney things for me and even some lovely things for Little Miss P.
It's kind of funny now as Little Miss P has size 3 feet so they obviously do the same shoes for me and her, I think we will be wearing the same shoes when we are away. She is actually really looking forward to wearing the same as me, I think it's going to be really cute.
I like the clothes I have been buying, and little toiletries as well, most the stuff I buy from Boots, they have a brilliant range of toiletries and I love the little Aussie hair collection they have. It's just so cute in miniature.
Everything I've been buying in Primark even my Disney bags, I have one that's black with Minnie Mouse in kind of a Mardi Gras face. And Little Miss P has a little black bag with just the Mickey is on, this bag is smaller than my bag. I don't think shall be using this most days, normally it's me with all the things in the bag (just call me a donkey). Ee-or. Hehe.

The cutest outfit for Little Miss P that I've got is a white pair of shorts, that will go with a white Mickey Mouse t-shirt that I got her, or a lovely grey kind of sports effect one. I'm just not a hundred percent sure if I like her wearing white shorts in Disney - I can see them getting very dirty very easily. No I'm not saying that kind of outfit for a nice meal one evening.

Did I do January goals

Well did I do my January Goals?

I have missed one day on my blog and that was Monday 22nd, it's ok though I don't mind missing it once in a while.

I have sold more than 21 things on eBay, which I am happy about. Might need to set my target higher in February.

With YouTube it's going well, I have missed a week on YouTube but only one so again I don't mind.

I have a box of things ready to take photos of and to put on sale with eBay. It's just finding the time to do it with good light, which is hard at the moment as it's always dark and not nice weather.

With the Etsy shop I have worked out what would likely sell and I have started to make the things for it and I have so many other ideas which I would like to have on it but I am just going to take it easy. I have got the Instagram name for it and some photos are up already (@summerminniegifts). It would be great if you can go and check it out.
I have started reading a book called The Confusion of Karen Carpenter by Jonathan Harvey. I've only done one chapter, but so far so good.

- To have at least two blog posts up a week
-Already have five ready and scheduled
- I have missed one day of blog posts
- To have one YouTube video up a week
- To sell at least 15 things on eBay
- Sort out more things to sell
- To have the first 15 things on my Etsy shop to go live on the 1st February
    -  Work out what to sell
    -  Get them made ready for photos
    -  Have all items on Etsy with good descriptions
- Start Instagram account ready for it (have already got name for it)
- To start to read a book

I think for January I did a good job. I could have worked more and I need to learn from that, but other thing I did pretty well.

January Lookover

So I know I have been a bad blogger, I have just seemed to lose touch with it but I am now back and ready to go and just playing catch up for a bit. So here we go.

9th - We are well and truly into the new year, Mr P is back at work, Little Miss P is back at school and I am now back at work. So far the year is going well, I've set myself up a few challenges and I always do myself a monthly challenge to get to bigger goals. So at the moment that is keeping me motivated, but today is a bit different as I have seem to have woken up with a headache. Planning to do a few other things this morning but I decided with my headache just to start this bit of the post.
We have decided to buy a smoothie maker and last night we got it and tried it out. And this smoothie actually tasted quite nice, it's just more of a way of trying to get some more fruit inside of us as we are not a very healthy family (we like our chocolate). The first one I made for Little Miss P and it was a mango and strawberry smoothie with a bit of coconut and almond milk in it, it's very nice and I would recommend it.

31st - For some reason I haven't really been up for writing on my blog, I don't know why. So we are still on the smoothies, I have one at least one a week. I  think it's doing some good to me. Well I can definitely say I am having more fruit and so is Little Miss P and Mr P. Not much else has happened in January other than getting back into the routine. Let's bring on February.

Book Review - Nice work (If You Can Get It)

This is a lovely book from Celia Imrie, I am not sure if I have read any of her books before. And I have to say I am enjoying it. It is just a little bit slow going for me, I like to get straight into a story, finding out all the ins and outs of it. And this does get more interesting towards the end of the book. It does have a good story and is based on a group of friends. The group of friends have different storylines based near Monte Carlo and Cannes, in a little place called Bellevue-sue-mer, The group of friends decide to open a restaurant, but it's not all as it seems as someone clearly doesn't want them to open the restaurant.
The friends are called Sally, Theresa, Zoe, William and Benjamin.

Meanwhile in Cannes it's the Cannes film festival where lots of the rich and famous go to party and where Sally meets a very wealthy person. She thinks it's all going great when he asked her to marry him, but he's not as he seems and they get arrested.

I don't really want to say much more due to the fact that I will probably be giving away the whole storyline, but I did enjoy this book once it got going. I need to pick up more of Celia Imrie's books.

December Lookover Part 2

22nd - Not long until Christmas now, Little Miss P has been off school since last Friday and we have been doing lots of stuff. Nothing that's that important, I've been mainly going to see our friends and  neighbours and today is the first day we are staying at home in our PJs, which has been lovely. Little Miss P has done her first YouTube video of 2018. She seems very determined this year with it and has written up a list of videos she wants to do. She has put the dates they should go live next to them, it's actually really sweet.
One thing I have done this year with little Miss P that I would like to do every year is to go round the old people's homes and give them some boxes, with little treats in. It's mainly aimed at the people that don't have family around them. One of my friends set this up, she did a great job with it. It was really sweet because she even sang a little song to them with some of her dancing friends, to the old ladies and men, and I think they really appreciate it. And it was nice that Little Miss P saw a different side to the world too.

26th - Today is Boxing Day here in the UK and today is our Christmas Day as a family as yesterday the other half was really sick and we didn't end up having Christmas dinner. We did end up opening our gifts but today he is feeling much better and we are having our lovely Christmas dinner today, and watching a few films.

Disney Planning - 7 mths to go

Yep, seven months and counting until our Disney holiday. I am super excited and really can't wait. We filled out our Estas and I'm glad to say that all three of us are allowed into the USA. There wouldn't be any reason why we couldn't but there's always that little bit in the back of your mind thinking will they let me in for some strange reason.

We have also started booking our meals, so far I've only booked two, we are having breakfast in Belle's Castle, which is pretty much for me as I love Beauty and the Beast, and I really want to try the grey stuff as it is supposedly delicious. I have also booked a dinner at Café Mickey, I want to go to this one because the monorail goes through the hotel where Café Mickey is. That will be a pretty cool experience for the family. I am also looking at Spirit of Aloha, kind of a dinner show with fire eaters and it's at the Polynesian Hotel, it just looks really fun. I'm not sure yet if I'm going to book it or not.

There's nothing else to really say about the trip now. Little Miss P has a few clothes already that she's not going to wear until Disney as they are spring clothes and we are in winter, they are already in the suitcase.

I'm so excited about this trip and I know I am very lucky to be able to take my family on this trip. I'll come back to you with a five months and counting blog post soon.

December Lookover Part One

2nd - It was my work party on the 1st, we went to Woolston Manor not far from where we live so it's a nice and easy location to get to. I work as a Midday and we went with everyone in the school, so the teachers and office staff etc. It was an okay night, the food was actually really nice but I didn't really feel like dancing as the teachers aren't really my friends, and I didn't really feel that comfortable, but it was ok and I loved the new dress I bought for it.

7th - On the 3rd I went out with my school mum friends, we decided to spend the day in London. We ate at Planet Hollywood and the food was absolutely lovely. We also decided to go into Winter Wonderland for the evening. We even had a half an hour slot at the ice bar. It's actually really good and not as cold as I thought it would be. With the price you pay to get in you also get a little drink in an ice glass. It was a enough for me while I was there. We also went on a rollercoaster ride that was hilarious as some of the mums don't like rollercoasters but they still went on it. Good for them, they were right team players.

12th - Well we have got snow this year. We had one day of it snowing and it was most of the day, it was pretty fantastic actually and it worked even better as that was the weekend we went to Center Parcs Winter Wonderland, so it made it even more magical with it snowing. I had a fun time in Centre Parcs and decided not to do a massive blog post on this year and I decided to give myself a slight break writing blog posts in December other than this one. Outside now it's not as beautiful as it has been, all the lovely squishy snow has turned into really thin horrible ice, which I have nearly fallen over twice. Still got to get myself to work, etc. so let's just hope I don't fall over today. If I do I just have to laugh it off.

January Goals

I did this sort of blog post when I first started my blog to keep track of my goals and other things. If I am the only one that reads this I don't mind as it keeps me accountable for what I am doing, and if it inspires other people to aim for their goals that's even better.

Well let's get on with my January ones... if you want to know what my goals are for the whole year check out this blog post here. I will have each goal put up, and underneath some of them I will have little things that I've already done or a list of what I need to do for that goal.

- To have at least two blog posts up a week
- Already have five ready and Scheduled
- To have one YouTube videos up a week
- To sell at least 15 things on eBay
- Sort out more thing to sells
- To have the first 15 things on my Etsy shop to go live on the 1st February:
    -  Work out what to sell
    -  Get them made ready for photos
    -  Have all items on etsy with good descriptions
    - Start Instagram account ready for it (have already got name for it)
- To start to read a book

I hope I get all things done, if not I hope I get most of them done. I don't know if I've given myself too many things to do for the first month. January for me is quiet though. If you want to know how I've done in January I will be doing a January goal look over and my February goals together, so keep an eye out for that.

2018 Plan

Where do I start for 2018

The List

I have a list of things that I want to do and I have pick four things that I think might be achievable

2018
1 - Give blood. My mum and my sister both already do this and I really want to do this myself, although it does freak me out for a little bit.
2 - Take my daughter to see Father Christmas in Lapland. I've got some brochures already to take a look at prices.
3 - Finish my Wedding Album. I finally got the disk with all the photos on it, I just need to go through the thousands of photos on it and pick the ones that are for my album. It's a very simple job but this will take a lot of time.
4 - Read more. I don't mind reading but it takes me ages to read a book, for many reasons but I would like to read at least 5 books in one year and not one thoughout the whole year. And I think it will be good for Little Miss P to see me reading more too.

Saving / Paying Off
Not much for this one other than to save money and take my daughter to Lapland.
To keep paying off more of the mortgage if we can.

Other
1 - Be able to make the same amount of money from other things as I do as a Midday Play Leader so that I'll be able to leave the midday job.
2 - Step out of my comfort zone, I am definitely in my comfort zone most of the time at the moment.

At this moment in time I don't really have anything else in mind. I think this is a great start for now and when I complete it will be great. I can always add things throughout the year.

Bye 2017, Hello 2018

Bye-bye 2017 you have been a good year, nothing major has happened, but it's been a good year. We have had some lovely little holidays. We have been to the Isle of Wight, Scotland, Kessingland and LegoLand.  And all of our little holidays have been fantastic.
Also we've seen quite a few theatre shows, we saw Wind in the Willows and The Lorax as a family and Little Miss P and I saw Aladdin with her school for a school trip. Also we went to Bramham Horse Trials... that was a lovely day out.

As a family we have been great, Little Miss P has done well in school, Mr P is still in his job and so am I. And we still have our house and we still have our family and friends around us.

So I can say bye to 2017 and hello to a new year and maybe new changes. There might not be a lot of changes in 2018 but things will be moving along as we start sorting out Little Miss P's high school, and I can feel a few more changes coming along. Just not too sure what they are yet.

2017 Lookover

At the beginning of 2017 I put on this blog of things that I want to do in 2017, so I dedicate this little blog post to seeing if I've done any of it. I want to look back at that blog post so I'll leave the link here.

Starting with the ones I did actually achieve, I carried on with my little midday play leader job. And I've carried on doing this blog (didn't do a blog post every week) and I carried on doing YouTube too (but didn't do one of them every week either). I have carried on doing eBay and I'm really loving it, and doing quite well at it. We have doing Matched Betting and have been doing that really well. The husband has been doing really well on it. I didn't save about £4000 but I did save about £2000 for the Disney holiday, which we will be taking in 2018. We have been paying extra off our mortgage throughout the year.

Now the things that I didn't achieve... The first one was work on the little shop/online shop of my own, this is still a dream of mine and I will still slowly work towards this. Get 200 on this little blog, so 129 but people reading this blog it has gone up a lot. I'm not too bothered about how many actually follow it now. The other one was to get 200 on my YouTube and I haven't done that one either. I have put the occasional video on the YouTube channel, but haven't really stayed up-to-date with it. Have got up to 116. I might just carry on this little challenge next year.

From my little list that I've done I think I did pretty well. I didn't complete all of them but I have to say I probably did about half of them. It's nice being able to look over what I have done and being able to continue with these in years to come.

Mrs P
