Netfix or Amazon Prime

So last month we tried Amazon Prime to see what it is like as it was all over the TV and we thought why not. This month we are trying Netflix.

My thoughts on Amazon Prime were good at first. They had a few things that I liked to watch, mainly films and not so many programs where the other half watched lots of TV shows that he liked to watch, mainly BBC ones. It was OK but I could see if I carried on watching it and paying for it, it would not be worth the money. The only thing that might be worth the £79 would be the next day delivery for the things we buy on Amazon. But we don't buy that much really.

Now onto Netflix... We have only had it a few weeks and I love it because it has a show on it that I have always wanted to watch called Once upon a Time. Also it has the film The Wolf of Wall Street. I haven't watched that one yet but I can't wait to see it and it has Leonardo DiCaprio so that makes it better to watch hehe.

That's it for my little blog post. Let us know what you think of both of them and if you have any of them.

Alice in Wonderland Backpack

As I said before I am Disney Crazy, so I thought I would show you this cute backpack I bought for the plane. I saw it and thought how cute it was and it's a great size for the things I need. It has room for a book, a notepad, iPad and few sweets. This backpack will only have my things in and paperwork for the holiday as well as passports. The main thing I love about this bag is it's simple with a bit of detail on it and does not shout Disney (Alice in Wonderland) all over it. It's just a pop of details.

I love that it has most of the characters on it. I'm a little upset that it does not have the Queen of Hearts on it. I can't wait to use this little backpack for our holiday, I am so excited about the holiday and of course using this bag.

Time Difference

Let the count down begin for our Holiday.

We have 56 days until we are on Holiday, this time in 56 days we will be in Canada, driving back to Chris and Jasmine's house. I think we will be very tired and maybe falling asleep in the car. As they are four hours behind us, I think we land at about 5.50pm our time and then it's another 4 hours to get to their house. It will only be 1.40pm in Canada when we land and it's going to take a few days to get used to the time difference. The funny thing is by the time we get used to it we will have another time difference of an hour when we pop to Montreal for a few days.

Then we will be off to Orlando for 6 days. It will be the same as Montreal but it will completely different weather. It could be cold and maybe snowing then we're going off to somewhere nice and sunny (I hope) and not raining.

It's getting really exciting now, we are starting to get all the bits together like our suitcases, all our visas, money and making sure we have clothes for 14 days worth of the trip (as I don't think I do). I know I don't. I've already had to buy more pants and socks for me and a few more for Little Miss P too.

I can't wait now and I am getting very excited about the trip and it's really not too long before we go at all.

A special trip

As I said in the last post we have planned a two week trip, one in Canada to see some family and the other in the USA... that part of the trip is to a magical place called Disney World. We will only be there for 6 days but I think this is the perfect time to take Little Miss P as she still believes in the Princesses, Mickey and Minnie mouse and to tell you the truth even I am fooled into believing the magic when I go there. I have only been there once before when I was 16 with my family. And I loved it.

We not going to tell her at all, when we arrive at Orlando airport we are staying at a Hilton Hotel near the airport. I will say in the next blog post about how we booked Disney. Then we are going back to the airport to pick up the Disney Express to take us to our hotel and we are just going to wait until the penny drops for her and see her little (or perhaps big) reaction. I have to say I am not sure how she will react. I am not sure how I will react and can I really keep it a secret until we are there? I hope so.

I hope that we will have a great time. Hold on... I know we will have a great time

Breaking it down.

As I have said before we have booked a two week holiday in Canada and a week in the USA. We have booked through lots of different companies because it works out to be the cheapest way. This is going to be a little breakdown on what we have spent so far on the holiday to give you an idea of how much it would cost for you.

First off we fly to Canada, but not the main bit of Canada, we fly into a place called Halifax. Then it's a four hour car drive to my nephew's house where we will be staying for a few days. So I get to save on hotel prices for that bit. I think we are going to stay there for three to four days.

After that we're off to Montreal for a few days to see more of Canada and take it in as we haven't been there before. The others are coming with us too as far as I know. I hope they are anyway. We will be staying in a hotel so have to pay for that.

The next part of the trip is over to the USA whilst we are in that part of the world!

On the way home our flight from the USA back to London is split into two flights so we have to stop in New York. Only for a few hours though then it's back to London.

We found these flights thought a website call Kayak they look for the cheapest way to fly for you. We are using two different airlines, Air Canada and United Airlines. I don't think it will be a problem, well I hope not anyway.

So the four flights for us have cost about £2,300 in total, which I don't think is too bad.

On the flights we get a meal and snack and the baggage is the same on every plane as we booked it as one 'tour' through one company.

That's my little blog post about our flights. As more of our plans for the trip progress and I add up how much it's costing I will let you know.

TV Favourites

Once Upon a Time
I loved watching it, I have always wanted to watch it but as we didn't have any fancy TV channels and had the basic package I didn't see it. But now that I have Netflix oh my, I love it. I am already on Season 2 and have three more seasons to go. I love seeing all the fairy tales come to life in a different way.

Silent Witness
I have been watching this for years. It used to be more about the bodies and what they find on them to how they die to solve the case. Now it's more like they are cops as well as being pathologists so has become very unrealistic, but I still like it and will continue to watch it.

Death in Paradise
This is a British-French lighthearted crime comedy-drama television series about a UK Detective who helps solve crimes in the Caribbean. It is so funny and Kris Marshall is in it (he was the eldest son in My Family). He plays the character so well.

Let us know what you have been watching at the recently.

Veg or not to Veg

This year we are looking into doing our own vegetable Garden and we have a little plot at the back of our garden. Last year we set it up for this year to do exactly that, but the truth be told I don't have a clue where to start and neither does the other half.

I think the first thing that we need to do is to read up on it and see what the easy thing to grow are. We have got a book that we bought to try and help us called Made at Home by Dick & James Strawbridge (Vegetables). It has a section on preparing to grow vegetables in it.

It has it down to the Tools and Equipment that we will need to help us do it, to what sort of soil we will need and pest control. We will 100% need that as we have lots of cats coming into our garden.

Having a look through the book it even has each section put into seasons like Spring, what the best to plant are and great Spring tasks. I have started to read the book as I write this and some of the tasks are like sterilize your pot and a great thing to plant in Spring are the likes of Peas and Purple sprouting Broccoli. The Purple Broccoli seems a bit weird but we will give it a go.

I will keep you up to date on our Green life and show you if we end up growing anything. We can't even keep flowers alive so this may not go to plan.

Wish us luck.

Our New Suitcases

For one night suitcases have been a pain in my ass. We are going on holiday this year and I wanted to get the suitcases sorted as they're on sale at the moment, And they were going back up in price that night. So I really wanted to get them sorted just to stick up in the loft for when we need them. But the other half and I were butting heads with it, I was saying we should get the larger ones and he said no, medium-sized ones. In the end I gave in to let him have medium-sized ones. So we ended up with two medium size suitcases and I already have a smaller size suitcase so that will be Little Miss P's one. We also have two cabin size suitcases that will come on the plane with us, this is more for clothes in case our luggage gets lost, just so we have a spare set. As well I will also put a fleece in there for the plane for Little Miss P.

Ordered the suitcases with half an hour left before the offer ran out, it may even have been 10 minutes before the offer ran out. I'm glad we got them; my one is the pink one and Mr P's one is the teal colour. They are lightweight and easy to move with four wheels at the bottom. So hopefully when we get to the airport it will be easier keeping an eye on Little Miss P and her suitcase. The suitcases seem to have plenty of room in them. They will be full when we go but the whole reason why we got two cabin suitcases was to bring back the things we buy on holiday. Well at least that's the plan.

When we ordered them Tesco said that would be able to pick them up in our local store in two days' time, perfect. So Mr P and I went down to get them two evenings later, we even got the email saying they were in and I got all excited. But they couldn't find them and the Manager said they hadn't turned up yet and would be there by 10 o'clock the next day. We just left as I wasn't in the mood to argue with them but the next day I did ring up Tesco Direct and spoke to them. They said they got delivered yesterday at 9 AM in the morning. So before Mr P went to get them I went down there and asked if they were in, even though I wasn't picking them up there and then. They said yes but I wanted them to show me so I got them to show me the suitcases and then said to them I'm not getting them now, my husband is coming to get them later. I don't think the man was happy with me about that but I wanted to make sure before Mr P got in his car to get them.

The thing I didn't like about it was that it's such a small store, how could they lose the big boxes of suitcases. I think the Manager that night wasn't in the mood for looking for them, but the next night the guy was a completely different person... possibly because he had a little bit of a telling off by head office.

But we've got them now and they're in good condition and so far nothing else has happened. I got my product in the end, I just hope they fit all the clothing and don't go overweight as I don't fancy paying any extra luggage allowance.

I am obsessed

Have I ever told you that I am obsessed with Disney and that I stalk some Disney dedicated Instagram pages and some Facebook pages as well as some people's YouTube channels. Some people may think it's sad but I love it and it gives a feeling of getting me to Disney to find the magic. I haven't really put many blog posts up about this but I am thinking I would like to as I am slowly moving away from talking about my daughter all the time as she getting older and has her own blog now.

I went to Disney World for the first time when I was 16 years old for my stepdad's 50th Birthday, more about this detail in a blog coming soon. And I have been to Disneyland Paris about three times, once when Little Miss P was about 4 years old, once at Christmas time when we were there for Christmas day, and the last time we went there was for my Mum's 50th birthday just last year.

I am not too sure why I love Disney so much, is it because I am still a kid inside, is it because I still believe in the magic, or is it both of them? I am not 100% sure why but now I have told you expect a lot more Disney posts on this Blog and over on my YouTube channel.
