I Go Away, 12th Sep 2013

I wrote this on the day of going away.

( At the airport )

Yes it is the day I go on holiday. It's 10.13am and I have already taken little miss to school, put a load of washing on, done all the washing up, packed the suitcase and got everything ready for the weekend for Mr P, with Little Miss P's show outfit out. Also been to Boots to buy a new hair bursh and disposible razor. I had to get men's one though as they didn't have any women's ones left.
Now time for a bath and a chill out until I get picked up at 1.45pm.

( On the plane )
Well I am on the plane now and we have great seats for Ryanair - we're by an exit so lots of leg room. We got to the airport by 2.30pm so had lots of time to get drink and food, and as you can tell I had a glass of wine. Hehe. Now we're going to order a pina colada, oh yes.
I miss Little Miss P but while she's not here I am going to enjoy myself.
We must have a stag party on the plane as there are 16 guys near us. Nice group tho. I think my auntie, mum and her mate are enjoying chatting them up.

( Fish face on the plane )
Even tho we left late we made it there early so I am guessing the wind was behind us, lucky us (and that Ryanair always add extra time to the flight).
Now we're on the way to the hotel to have a good night's sleep before a full day of sun... well I hope so anyway.

( On the bus on the way to airport )

We're now in the hotel. It's a good size 3 star appartment. I am in the frontroom bed as the other ones are scared to be in the front on their own. Going to find a shop now to get some water and some tea bags for the morning.

Holiday Tmo.... Wednesday 11th September

Written on Wednesday 11th September

Yes, I go on holiday tmo and I can't wait. The plan was to go and get my legs, eyebrows & bikini line waxed  as well as have my eyelash tint done. Well most of that happened this morning but my leg hair was too short so I couldn't  have that done. Everything else was fine though, although I had forgotton how much the waxing hurts as it's been so long. I will just have to find something else to use use on my legs.

As I write this I am sitting at Woodford Station waiting for my Hainault train home, listening to the male staff talk about babies on boobs and saying the word 'Mama'. OK then... not sure how to take that, and now somehow they've got onto the subject of Aliens. It's funny really. it gives me something to listen to.

As I was early for my appointment I went and got myself a magazine and found a little café to sit in. But it wasn't just any café, it was a pottery café where you paint a mug, plate and lots more things. I got a little excited as I love doing it with Little Miss P in Center Parcs, so I am going to go and take Little Miss P and even Miss Henderson with me, as I know they would both love it.

It's 1.37pm and I am sitting with a test patch of Veet hair removal cream on my leg that I picked up on the way in. I have to wait 24 hours to see if I react to it, so I will have to take the rest on holiday with me to do when I get there, or I might be able to do the rest just before we go. That's if it even works, which I hope it does.

It's now 1.47pm and the test patch has worked. Just need to see if my skin has a reaction to it now.

I have now got Little Miss P from school and she is in the front room with her dance / singing teacher getting ready for her first ever solo at the dance festival on Sunday. I am so upset that it landed on the day i am on holiday, but as the other half said she will have plenty more. I just hope she does ok and does not cry.

But I am going to be a very proud mummy whatever happens.

P.S. My skin was fine.

Photo Gallery 158... Faces

This week I am giving Sticky Finger Weekly Photo Gallery a go again. I've done it once before so I am excited to try again and i might even find some new blogs to follow

I have jumped in with number 158 (yes, I know I have missed loads of them) and it's to do with faces, and as this blog is all about my little family I just had to put this up!

This is a close up of Little Miss P's eyes and nose... I find this photo a little scary on here really, but i love how blue her eyes are in it! Not so sure why the bags under her eyes are so big.

This is a normal photo of Little Miss P when she's not doing funny faces or wanting a close up of any part of her body.

Hope everyone has been enjoying they week so far.

Hallway update

Hello everyone.

I think this is how I left it with you with before, with no carpet anywhere. We got the wooden floor laid one day and the carpet came the next morning. Then that afternoon we went on our little holiday away to Kessingland.

As i haven't updated you on the hallway work for a while I am pleased to say it's done... well nearly done... very nearly done! All the paint is on the wall, the floor is down and the carpet is down, we have a nice mirror up and a hallway seat. We just haven't cut or painted the skirting yet and we're going to get the front door French polished (as we know someone who can do it for us).

Now that Little Miss P is back at school we can start getting into a bit more of a routine and get the skirting done in one weekend in September. I hope so anyway x

I will doing a little blog post about the mirror and seat in the next few days so keep an eye out for it x

A Desirable Residence by Madeleine Wickham

A Desirable Residence
By Madeleine Wickham

Liz and Jonathan are in trouble. They can't sell their old house and they've already moved into their new one. Stuck with two mortgages, mounting debts and a sulky daughter, their smart estate agent Marcus presents the perfect solution - super glamorous couple Ginny and Piers will become their tenants.

But Marcus soon finds himself more involved with Liz then he'd ever intended. And neither Liz, lost in blissful lust, nor Jonathan, trying to solve their financial problems, notices that teenage Alice has developed a desperate passion for the tenants.

Everyone seems to be entangled with everyone else, and Marcus needs to escape. But as events close in on him, he begins to realise that some deceptions are just a bit too close to home.

My View

I enjoyed reading this book. Lots of fun characters and recognisable situations always makes for a good read.  Even though it was i would say the other books by Madeleine Wickham have a better storyline to them than this one. I think it should be a bit longer to make the ending of the story feel like an ending and not rushed. I would say read it if you've got it but don't go out and buy it, and i am very sad to say that as i love all her other books.

Oh, I am going on my little holiday on Thursday so I will be a bit M.I.A. over the next week, so hope you all have a lovely week.

Spa Day Chillout

Hello September

Yes, I had a spa day with my mum and sister at Clarice House last Sunday... and it was heaven!
I didn't really know what to expect as i have only been to one before.
I have to say it was good but not the better one out for the two, sorry.

Clarice House was good in the way of just chilling for the day; it had a swimming pool, hydrotherapy pool, Spa Bath, Sauna, Steam Room & aromatherapy room.

We couldn't get in the Spa Bath because as soon as someone came out someone else ran into it, so we didn't have a go in that. And we didn't go in the sauna either as it was way too hot to sit in, even for a minute. I spent most of the time in the Hydrotherapy pool, just chatting with my sister and mum.

My sister and me in our robes

With the spa day with had a Manicure, pedicure and a back massage. I don't like people touching my back so this was the first time i had a back massage. It was ok and the lady doing it was lovely but i still find it a bit weird. Not sure i would have another one; maybe if it was free I would. Hehe.

My nails were great and they were done perfectly, even though a bee came and joined us while it was being done.

We had lunch there and it was very nice. I had a Jacket Potato and a hot chocolate just before we went home and while my nails were drying. It was very good and very chocolatey.

My overall view is that if you're after a nice day just to sit and chill it's great. I will go again and maybe try out another treatment.

My Rating
3/5

What's in the Bag?

My husband went away for the night with work and he always brings back something small for Summer and me. So i thought i would show what he got us. He knows that I love the shop Clintons so he got all the things from there.

For Summer he picked up this little guy called Tedmund. He's really soft and made for cuddles... so cute. He was £9.99.

And I got a 'This Week to do list or next week' pad by Emma Bridgewater. I love my to do lists so this is just perfect for me, and the pen is a Pentel Pink Breast Cancer pen. My hubby knows me too well :-)

This is the Yankee Candle he chose for Summer and me, a small Summer Scoop. I think he chose this one  because of the name. It smells so good too, mostly of raspberry. I think I will be using this one in the bedroom.

So what's your fab thing to buy in Clintons?
