Forgetful Me

I am one of the most forgetful people ever. If I didn't have my head screwed on I would have lost it ages ago. I am always forgetting my keys and where I put things down and they just seem to pick up and walk off. Well I think they do. Little Miss P said that the fairy picks them up and takes them away to play with them, I thought that was so sweet.

So I need to work out a way of keeping track of where my things are. I will be leaving my keys in one of two places at night; on top of the telly downstairs or on my bedroom side.

If you have any tips that would be great for me.

Mrs P

Photo Gallery - Colour

It's that time of the week again; the Photo Gallery... and it's all about Colour.

As it's Half Term this week we are playing lots of games at home and doing lots of Lego, so what better then a bright and colourful photo of lots of lovely Lego.

As it's mainly been dull for the last few days here, we're at home working on our Maths and English and playing lots of games. As we are trying to save money I have been trying to work on things that cost a little or nothing at all. I think I have been doing well so far.

So that's my little post for today. I hope you like it and I'll see you all soon. x

How I Meal Plan

I have only just started Meal Planning so I am not the best at it at the moment but I'm finding ways to help me keep the budget down, and to get things that all my family like.

I normally do my meal plan for the week on a Friday whilst Little One is at school. I start off by putting the kettle on and making myself a cup of tea with a few little biscuits on the side.
I go and look in the fridge and check what we have in there and what we need to use up soon, then go to the freezer and see what we have, and the same with the cupboard.

After that I look on a few websites and see if I can find any coupons that we could use. This week I haven't really found any but I have just had my Tesco ones in the post so I will be using some of them.

Now I sit down and write my list. I start off thinking of the things I need to use up and what we have in the cupboard. Then I will ask Little Miss P and Mr P what they would like one night in the week; I have picked Fresh Pasta. After all that I write the meal plan, write my shopping list and when I am shopping I stick to it. We are all allowed one little treat on the shop as well. Mr P normally buys a bottle of wine and Little Miss P's is usually a chocolate bar.

I hope that helps for now.

Top Five - Disney Films

5) Princess and the Frog
I think Princess Tiana is an underrated Princess. Her character has a sassy nature about it and the film has some great music to go with it.

4) The Lion King
Well it's about what it says on the DVD box; about a Lion trying to find himself after his Dad is killed by his Uncle. He runs away from his home then comes back when he's older to take charge and become king.

3) Beauty and the Beast
This is the first Disney film I can remember seeing when I was little. I am 100% sure this was my favourite one when I was younger. You just have to love Belle in the big yellow dress and I love meeting her at Disneyland :-)

2) Brother Bear
I love this film, it's about three brothers. One of them is killed by a bear, who in turn is killed by one of the other brothers. The mother bear leaves her baby Bear on its own and then the spirits turn one of the brothers into a bear. He ends up looking after the little one and they have a great adventure.

1) Tangled
My number one Disney Film at this moment in my life is Tangled. I love it. I don't really know why I love it, but it could be the songs, the way each character has a great personality and the fact the Rapunzel kicks butt in the film.

I will be going into more details on each film over the next few months, starting with Tangled.

January Look Back

I thought it would be good to do a look back over January at the positives that have happened, so I don't take anything for granted.

So at the beginning of January it was a new year and a new start. I said to myself that 2015 is the year I will kick a little bit of butt and set myself some challenges. Only small ones to get where I want to get to in life.

Not sure why a photo of my feet but its cold outside.

I did quite well with them. The only two I failed on was by doing them half heartily, but I did some of them and that's what counts.

Also we have started doing meal plans each week 1) so we don't waste food 2) it should save us money in the long term. By saving money on the food means we have been able to pay off more of the credit card this month, and that helps us to our goal of paying it off by the end of the year.

We sorted out our DVDs, they were a mess on the floor in the conservatory due to moving things around in the front room. The hubby made two shelves for them in the lobby that fit some of them and the rest are nicely put on a unit.

We saw our lovely family that live in Devon. We don't get to see them as much as we would like as they just live too far for us to always go and see them. Little Miss P loves playing with her cousins and her face lights up when she sees them, it's just so cute. I would like to see them more if we can, and Devon is a lovely place to go and look around.

As I write this the hubby is painting the front room wall where a nice big photo of all of us goes, as it's looking a little bit dirty. Not sure how he's getting on at the moment, all I can hear is a DVD on.

I made my first Hotpot. The hubby normal makes this as he likes cooking and when I cook I normally burn it. But today it was me giving it a go and I have to say I didn't realise how easy it was. I may be doing this more often now.

I am very proud of myself for putting this blog from blogspot to its own demain name. It might seem easy to some people but it wasn't to me and I did it with no help from anyone. So that made my week, and gave me the confidence to try some more things out on my own.

I have started doing videos on my own youtube channel and I even have 18 people following me. I didn't even think I would be able to do it, let alone have anyone watching it.

There are more things but I can't think of them at this moment in time. But I think this is a good start to the year.

Meal Plan 2nd - 8th Feb

I have been watching lots of different youtube channels to help me get organised, save money and start to get in a bit of a routine with things like a meal plan, a cleaning routine and how much we plan to spend each month. It all started as we would like to pay off our credit card and I would really like to take Little Miss P to Disney World when she's about 8 years old. I think every kid should be able to go and believe in the magic. She's been to the Paris one, it's not all about her though, I really want to go too.

My Monthly Goals

January Goals
1) To film three YouTube videos, as it's a little promise to Little Miss P that I would do and keep up with it  Done
2) Get my blog its own web page... Will need a lot of from the hubby with it as he's the technical one in the family  Done
3)  Do Wii Fit every week day for 15mins Fail
4) To go on at least one Forest family walk  Done
5) To do at least one blog post a week, I should 100% be able to do this, as I have been doing that for the past year and for most of it have done it... I may have missed three weeks of it at some point.  Done
6) Drink less tea, I have so much tea it's crazy. I can drink up to 7 cups of tea a day and it's just not normal. So I am slowly going to cut down, one bit at a time. Improved (I am still drinking lots of tea and just can't help it).

February Goals
 1) Do a blog post every week, I should be able to do this again
2) Declutter the study, it's a mess really, need to do this, it's just so messy
3) Drink less tea - no more than 4 cups a day... I need to do this
4) Sort out my blogging header to finish it off
5) Do a weekly meal plan every week to save money and eat more healthily
