Bringing up a Girl

At the moment bringing up Little Miss P is a pleasure. She does have her moments of attitude, being rude and just not listening, but she is 7 years old and testing the water on how far she can go. She's been doing this for a while now and all I have to do is look at her in a way that she knows means she has overstepped the mark.

I like her testing the boundaries and I find it very sweet in some sort of weird way; it shows that she's growing up.  There is one thing that I don't like at the moment and that is that she doesn't show if she's enjoying something; she looks bored but you ask her if she enjoyed it afterwards and she will tell you all about what went on. So I know she has enjoyed whatever it is, but it's hard for me to see that. She's just like her dad in that way. I am the only one in family that shows if I am enjoying something or not and it bugs me.

At school she only has a small group of friends, well only two main friends that she plays with, her best friend and another girl that she says is a little bit mean and wants to be the boss all the time. I have said to Little Miss P that she needs to just ignore her. She has been saying that she would like more friends so I said she has to go and talk to other people and make friends. My Little Miss P is not brave when it comes to talking to other kids. but when it comes to talking to other adults she does a great job, maybe it's because she's an only child. I think I need to sort out more play dates for her and try to get her confidence up a bit.

I will let you know how it goes.

Woburn Fun

Woburn Safari Park - we go here every year when Summer has a day off school during this week, as it's less busy. I know some people hate Zoos, but I think as long as they look after the animals well it's a good thing to be able to study them and if they are becoming extinct to keep the animal going.

The main attraction at this park is the road Safari where you drive with Lions and Tigers, Bears, White Rhino, Zebra and other animals. I really like driving in the Monkey bit, they had some cute baby monkeys playing round and jumping all over each other.

They have a foot Safari for Meerkats, Porcupines, Mongoose, Elephants, lots of Birds, Sealions and lots of other animals.

I have written about Woburn so many times on my blog so I thought this will be it for now and I will leave you with some of the photos I took instead.

Animal Kingdom

I really like this park especially the Kilimanjaro Safaris ride at Disney and that was Little Miss P's best ride too. I think we ended up going on three times in the week we were there and we went all at different times of the day so we saw the animals doing different things each time. I would have loved to do a late night ride but they don't do them.

We also met Mickey and Minnie here at Adventurer's Post and they look so cute in their outfits.  You can also do a Wilderness Explorers Trail where you can become a Wilderness Explorer and collect stickers around the park. Little Miss P loves doing this kind of thing.

One ride we went on that Little Miss P HATED was It's Tough to Be a Bug. It had some creepy crawly moments in the dark where it feels like the bugs are running under your bottom, it feels horrible. We even had Little Miss P crying through it, that's how much she hated it.

I think we got the best photos from this park. I loved all the ones from the photo pass. We spent one whole day in the park and a half day as the other bit of the half day we spent by the pool. I also loved the the Lion King show, that was great.

That's all have to say about Animal Kingdom, I loved it.

Hollywood Studios

Hollywood Studios is not my favourite park, well this time is wasn't. I didn't go on Tower of Terror or Rocking Rollercoaster as this trip was all about Little Miss P and this is not really the park for Little Miss P.

But I have to say one of the best rides is in this park and that's Toy Story Midway Mania, I loved it and so did the whole family. We got a fast pass for this and I am glad I did as the line was 2 hours long. We mainly went to see the shows like Indiana Jones and  Beauty and the Beast (which I still remember from when I was 16 years old). We also saw Voyage of the Little Mermaid, all the shows are great. It meant that we only spent the morning in Hollywood Studios, next time we go back hopefully in two years' time Little Miss P will be brave to go on the big rides.

A lot of the park was having work done to it so it was hard to find some of the rides and we got a little bit lost at one point.

Sorry I haven't said much about this park.

Epcot

Epcot I heard wasn't that great and when I was younger I didn't end up going to it, so this year I wanted to see for myself what it was like. And I am glad I did. It was a very relaxing park with lots to see, actually I wish I had spent more time in this park. We had fast pass booked for three things, both of the Finding Nemo rides and the best one of all, Test Track. I booked that one in for Mr P as I knew he would like it but I think we all liked it. It was fun that you have to design the car first and then once on the ride (in the car) you get to test it out in all different weather conditions then get to go really fast outside. If the line hadn't have been that long I would have gone on it again.

The nice chilled out bit was walking around the worlds, each of them looked so pretty. We spent a lot of time looking for characters and I found Mulan who Little Miss P wanted to see as she had been doing a play at school about her. We also saw Alice from Alice in Wonderland, Mary Poppins and Joy & Sadness from Inside Out. The line was an hour, which was the longest we had line up for something all week.

Next time we go I really would like to just walk around and look more inside of each part and take some more photos of the place as it's a really pretty place.

Also I would have liked to try more of the food in each 'country' and more of the food around Disney in general.

Magic Kingdom

It's the most magical place on earth, well that's what a lot of people say and I am one of those people. It's just when you walk into Magical Kingdom you let all your worries go at the gate. When I walk in I feel like I am 16 years old again when I first went. It was lovely to see Little One's face as well when we first walked in. And I have to say I think Mr P was a bit taken back by it too :-)

Magic Kingdom was the first park we walked into and we had a fast pass for the ride Enchanted Tales with Belle. I got this one as Little Miss P loves Belle and I have seen videos and it looks nice and calm. She loved it! She played Chip in it and it was the best for her, she was so proud that she had a little line in it, all that she said was Hello but that made her day as well as meeting Belle of course. While we were in the area of Fantasyland we went on a few rides like It's A Small World that we all loved and went on twice, Peter Pan's Flight once, Mickey's Philharmagic that's pretty cool and Mr P enjoyed that one, we met Cinderella and Rapunzel (I got a fast pass for that one) and Anna and Elsa we met and only had to queue for 5 mins (tip: go and see them late at night after the fireworks).
We went on The Many Adventures of Winnie of Pooh twice and the Mad Hatter's Tea Party four times (again, go after the fireworks because you can keep going on it) and Under the Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid (it was an ok ride but not one of my best ones). We met Ariel and that was great, I liked seeing her in her tail. We also when on Dumbo the Flying Elephant which is just a classic ride. We didn't get to go on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train as the line was 2 hours... I didn't fancy getting in that line. One thing that I would love to do next time would be the Be Our Guest Restaurant, so that's still on my to do list.

Next up ws Tomorrowland, there are not many rides in this part but these are the ones we went on... Tomorrowland Speedway, Tomorrowland Transit, Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin, Monsters Inc.Laugh Floor and Stitch's Great Escape. None of these rides really stood out for me though but I enjoyed all of them. The only ride we went on in Frontierland was Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Little Miss P wasn't that into it but I was glad she went on it.

The only ride we went on in Adventureland was Jungle Cruise, which was funny due to our tour guide, she was great. I love Magic Kingdom, the food and the rides were great and so were all the people working there.

Please take me back.

We're at Disney

Yes we have made it to Disney World after spending the night in the Hilton which was lovely and wish I could have spent a little bit more time there as it was a great room and I loved it.

Back to Disney. We got dropped off at the Disney Express to catch it to the Disney Caribbean Beach Resort. We got there and checked in and got our magic bands. Our room wasn't ready yet so they took our bags for us so we could go and play in the parks and of course the first park we went to was Magic Kingdom. I will do a more detailed post on what I thought of each park.

The first thing that I wanted to do - well what I wanted Little Miss P to see - was Cinderella's Castle, as to me that's the wow factor that allows you to start to believe that you are in the most magical place in the world.

We were all very tired when we turned up but very excited. I had booked a few rides to go on with fast pass so we used them. I picked some nice calm rides just to get Little Miss P into the swing of things as she takes her time getting into things like this.

I would have loved to know what was going on in her little mind when we got there. But I don't think I will ever find out.

April Lookover

So did I to do my April goals?
I can say 100% yes to this one we have had some great family time and Little Miss P is getting better at her spelling

Did I make the most of April?
Yes for the most of it as I knew it would be a fun filled first two weeks, then the rest of it was getting back to normal

What happened in April?
Well April you have been good to me and my little family. At the start of you we said goodbye to our family in Canada, that was the worst bit. But we said hello to Disney World. I have been planning this trip from when Summer was a baby. It's been my dream to take her at this age when she still sees the magic from a little girl's point of view.  I have had so much fun in that week and a Magical time with my family. I would go every year if I could.

But then we came back to earth and had to come home, back to work and school for all of us. It was a sad time and a week after I got the holiday blues, still have a little bit. But going back to work helps us pay for our trip. Mr P has been busy with shows with only one day home in the evening. And I've also had some first aid training for my job (always a good one for the CV!).

What would I change about April?
Other then stay in Disney for longer? No, April has been good for me and I wouldn't change it for anything.

My Aim for May
Truth be told I am not sure. I would love to be able to get ahead of my blogs and YouTube, try and earn some money from my blog, YouTube etc. and work hard on getting them known more. My aim is for all the money that I earn on here to go towards the next Disney trip.

The Next Plane

We're onto our next plane so we say bye bye Canada and thank you for our lovely trip and letting us see and play in the snow and enjoy our first Tim Hortons, seeing our lovely family, spending lots of fun with them. I can't wait to come and see you all again.

As we say our emotional byes and head to the security gate to go and catch our plane, there are mixed emotions from us all, mainly sad ones. It might be a few years until we see each other again.

By the time we walk through Security we thought our flight was on time but no we were wrong, we had a two hour delay due to our plane not being there yet. But it was fine, it was only two hours and got given food vouchers to go and get some dinner, so we had a Starbucks. Time went a little slowly as we waited for the plane but we had things that we could do.

Our flight was finally called and we were on the plane to our next adventure, Disney World!!
