Covid storytime

Yes I got covid. On the Wednesday 11th November I was tested positive for covid19,

But let’s start from the beginning and that was on Monday 9th November and woke at 3am not feeling great. Just my head was starting to fill heavy. I did manage to fall back to sleep, but the The next morning I woke and it felt like that I had been hit in the head with a spade.   I did check my temperature and it was 37.5 not to much to worries about. And deafly wasn’t thinking it was Covid as I didn’t have a cough or that much of a temperature, or loss of taste or smell, just my head really hurt. I did ring work and told them that I wouldn’t be In, my daughter went to school. And my hubby was out that day in a meeting. The rest of the 1st day I just laid on the sofa watching telly and sleeping. And that night I just stayed on the sofa as I was comfortable.

Tuesday 10th November

I slept ok still had a massive headache and my temperature was now at 38ish  but that was it still no need to think it was covid, my body did start to ache, it felt like a mild flu, and that was it. But as I work in a school I thought I would order a test, to prove that I haven’t got it and that I could go back to work as so as I feel better,  the test came the same day via Amazon, so did the home test and hubby took it to the post box to be picked up on the last post.

Wednesday 11th November

Slept ok, still have a temperature body still aches and head still feels like it about to fall off, when you Google these symptoms flu  comes up. Not covid  by the afternoon I did start to develop a tiny cough. And the hubby started to feel a bit ill.   But that it and spent most of the day was spend on the sofa watching telly again and falling asleep, but Wednesday was the day that I lost my appetite  Still had my taste but just wasn’t hungry.

Thursday 12th November

By the time I woke up that morning I had a email from NHS covid tell me that I was positive, I was actually surprise I really thought I had a mild flu. So that day Ewan and summer booked a test at a walk in centre and got a test done while I was still just sitting on the sofa and watch tv, the photo below are the symptoms that I had, the highlight ones are.

Friday 13th November

My headaches are starting to go down by now but I will still occasionally come up hurting like anything and I don’t have a temperature anymore, so started to move around the house a little bit but keeping to the front room and kitchen only. Making sure I clean all surfaces after I touched them. By 10am summer and Ewan had there covid email. Ewan came back positive, and summer came back negative. (From them summer stayed in her room and make all her own food) Ewan and I didn’t step foot in her room.

Saturday 14th November

I started to feel better by now but the hubby was feeling it with being tired and headache,  so we had a little bit of a role reversal.

 Monday 23rd November

Its  been a weird one but I am back to normal now and starting to feel myself again I have been out the house to the shops just been for a little walk, so as a family we are all aloud out the house now. which is nice for all of us, as we were starting to get cabin fever. and can see why some people don't get over covid, but that's in a different blog post.  The hubby is fine now as well and summer has showed no  symptoms, which is good but I also find that a bit weird as she was stuck in the house with Ewan and I when we had it.

That's it for now cant wait to be back to a little bit of normality, for a bit.

My little Etsy shop

My little Etsy

I have a little Etsy shop that I have had a while, and I always get a few sales each month. It’s normally only fabrics ,resin and iron on patches. But now I have gotten better with the sewing machine I have started to sell a few thing that I make. Which has been getting a few sales. But would love that happen more.

I can make hair Scrunchie which is the best seller out of the thing that I sell, I also make coffee cosy which I haven’t sold any of. Even though they are really cute, and headband which I sold one off,

The hair Scrunchie are sold for £3.00 and have about 6 different ones at the moment. X4 difference coffee Cosy and x3 different headband they both sell at £7.00 Once I have sold I few more of the coffee cosy and headbands. I want to make some different thing with the fabric.

I have been looking up different thing to make and have started to test a few out, I am happy with the way one of them is going, and I think I have that one down. But the other product needs more work. I am not 100% happy with how it’s turning out yet.

I wish I could sew amazing dresses and and jackets. But that will take a lot practice, which I just don’t have for at the moment. I will just keep to my small makes for now, and hope that sales pick up a bit more for the thing that I make. Mainly the coffee cosy and headbands.

I am glad that i have started this now, during 2020 as I can see next year 2021 being hard for everyone still, and still have covid looking over us.

My normal routine

I am not going to lie I am lazy, or I get Side tracked very easily. Not sure which one it is. I am going to go with the side track one.

I didn’t really have a routine at the beginning of the year but due to lock down and after a few months of just feeling fed up with it I’ve got myself into a routine when Summer went back to school. It’s a lot better than it was but deafly needs improving as I don’t normally get out of my pyjamas until about 11.00am And leave for work at 11.20am.

Ok I only work 10 mins down the road and only work for 1 hour and 45 mins a day. As I work as a midday in a primary school. Basically I look after the kids at lunch in the playground. It’s not a hard Job well sometimes it can depending on what year I have. But saying that I enjoy my job I enjoy the random conversation that the kids have we me, And they can be very random. I have completely gone of track. (see side tracked again)

But the point I was trying to make is that I don’t have to get dressed, until the last minute. And when I finished work it’s only 30 minutes until summer home from school. As she on a shorter timetable at school. So I feel like I have really shorts day at the moment.

Here is a rough schedule.

7.30 - This is the time I wake up, but don’t really move my eyes will occasionally open, and might say a few words to my family like morning and how did you sleep.

8.00 - This time my husband normally put a cup of tea Next to the bed for me. This is about the time I start to sit up make sure summer is getting ready for school, and I will check my phone for anything that I’ve missed overnight.

8.30 - I’ve now managed to make my way out of bed, usually the husband is now in the study doing his work. I can now go and see summer, she at the age where I just have to leave her to get ready because if I go in there to early while she still getting ready she will have a moan at me. So it’s best to avoid sometime.

9.00 - by now Summer has gone to school, I have gone downstairs to get myself some breakfast at the moment is usually Weetabix. ( well Tesco own Version) and I will be sitting at the kitchen table with the laptop on ready for an hour of going other things for my Etsy shop.

10.00 - This is when I normally have A quick tidy around, normally stuff like the washing up. Tidying the beds. And given Summer‘s room a quick once over.  This can take anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour depends on what I get done and how much I actually get sidetracked, which is probably very likely.

11.00 - if I am not dressed already for work this will be a time where I’ll have to get dressed. As I’ve got to leave in about 20 minutes sometimes earlier if I go to the shops 1st to post parcels that I’ve got from Etsy.

2.00 - this is the time of normally get home, and when I get home I really need a cup of tea and just to sit down in peace for a few minutes. And normally need away as wee as well. This could last for half an hour, normally because I get sidetracked watching something on YouTube or prime or going on Pinterest and just browsing but normally my husband will make an appearance downstairs to make himself some lunch or another coffee. So that normally kicks me out of it. So I have a little tidy of the front room but then I go back to watching something for the other half an hour.

3.00 - Summer normally gets home around this time don’t know why it takes us so long to get home sometimes but it does. If she’s in the right mood or sit down and have a chat about the school day while she has a snack and a drink. Then go through what her plan for the evening is if she’s got lots of homework she normally starts there about four for an hour or two depending on how much she has been given. But on Wednesdays and Thursdays are her dancing and acro days so the times in the evening changed slightly.

4.00 - this is the time as someone will be sitting doing her homework for a bit in her room I do like to be nearby in case she needs any help I don’t really want to get stuck into something may I get annoyed if she comes and asked for help. Normally at this time and work out what to do for dinner washing clothes, and more just getting sidetracked with the technology normally.

The rest of the evening

The rest of the evening is normally filled up with cooking dinner tidying up after dinner having some family time watching a film or playing a game as of last night we played Monopoly, which I came second in and Summer came first the poor hubby came last. Pretty sure he let Summer win though. As he was keeping her the airports for a cheap price. I normally just go over Summer‘s homework to make sure it’s done right and looks presentable. Make sure her bag is packed as I usually have to remind her about five times to do this the night before. When it’s bedtime routine the teeth bed wash etc and we are normally in bed between 10pm and 11pm.

As you can see I get sidetracked a lot, I would like to fit more into my day and I know I can It’s just getting the motivation to do it.

Getting ready for 2021

I have never stuck with stuff, Not thing that I see as a hobby. but with covid and everything else happing in the world right now, Maybe its time I Try stick with something longer than three months.

So I thought I’d give myself a head start for 2021 and start with writing this post in October that won’t be going out until December. With everything going on I cant actually predict what’s gonna be happening in January 2021. Will it still be in a world of lockdown. Or will it only be part of the world. I have to say I am pretty sure that the UK will still be in some sort of lockdown.

So here I will just put down what my thoughts are and what I would like to work towards for 2021,

  •   First up I’d like to go on some sort of holiday on a plane somewhere. At the beginning of 2020 we managed to get on a plane to Copenhagen and at the beginning of the year the husband and I said we should do more travelling together As a family. Try do more mini breaks in Europe,  But that stopped. So hoping that can start up again in 2021.
  • Help summer get to her 1000 on YouTube she been on YouTube for a few years now doing it when she feels like it but In August she said that she would really like to hit that 1000 mark. She has a few video for next year already so that’s good and as of 5th October she at 766 I think.
  • Get organised. This is one of the things that I always say and never actually accomplish it. But the house is starting to really stress me out with so much stuff in it. I think this is getting me more stressed due to my husband now working from home. I have actually started to sort this out with the DVDs,

There are so many more things but here are the first thing that I can start working on from now, okay I know the  holiday one I can’t really but I can start thinking about the places that I want to go.
