January 2016

January is about the new year's resolutions or as I like to call them goals because they seem more fun that way. I set myself goals for the year then I like to break them down into months. For me personally it just works out better that way and it works for the longer time goals in a few years time, not just a year.

So did I to do my January goals?
Yes all except one of them. I didn't get to finish Little Miss P's 'Do you want to build a snowman' video as my baby camera went to be fixed and I have just got it back. But the rest of them I did, woohoo.

Did I make the most of January?
I am not sure if I did, I think I could have done more, well I know I could have.

What happened in January?
Well January was just getting back into a routine after Christmas and starting to get things sorted for the holiday.

What would I change about January?
Nothing as it was ok, nothing fantastic happened and nothing bad happened.

My Aim for February

My aim for February is to carry on having fun, carry on helping Little Miss P with her with school work and dancing. For me just carry on with my little blog and stay ahead of it. I like the way my life is going at the moment so I would like to keep it this way for a bit until at least after our Holiday.

Young Victoria - Review

I love watching films and before Christmas Mr P signed up to Amazon Prime just so we could get a present in time for Christmas, and you get the first month free. With getting the delivery the next day also you get Amazon Prime TV where you can watch TV shows and films for free. I love this just due to the fact that I said I love films. So far I've watched about five different films on it so here is my first review on the first film that I watched.

Young Victoria

Obviously from the title it's all about Queen Victoria but when she was younger some of it is even before she was queen.

Young Victoria was the only surviving heir of several sons of George III, two of her uncles, George IV (and his brother William IV) had preceded her as monarch. Unfortunately for Victoria her father, the Duke of Kent, died very early and her mother, the Duchess, fell under the spell of a conman in the shape of
a conman . Sensing the prospect of power, the two of them raised Victoria in a repressive background at Kensington Palace, dubbing their tyrannical regime "The Kensington System".

Queen Victoria is played by Emily Blunt and I think she plays her so well.  I love this story as it is a true love story of Victoria and Albert. Albert ended up helping her run the country by bringing in the arts a lot more.

I really liked this film and wouldn't mind watching it again.

#Girlboss

I have just found Audible books, oh my I have been missing out, I love it. I thought I would give it a try last month and the first book I got was #girlboss by Sophia Amoruso. It's about the person who created the brand nasty girl and how she came round to doing it. I don't want to tell you the whole story because that's for you to find out when you read it yourself.

It's about how she started it and what made her do it. It's a very inspirational story by her starting out as the lowest of the low and making a multi million pound company with no help from the banks and all with her own money. I am a little bit of a sucker for these types of stories but that just gets me motivated to do the things I want to do to live my life. It's great to listen to first thing in the morning to get you up and going and ready for the day.

Before reading this book I have to say I've never heard of nasty  girls, it actually sounds like it might be a porn website to me but now reading it obviously I have looked up the website online and her website looks fantastic. It is very different to most of the websites I look at. She has put her own style on to it and that's another reason why I love it.

So if you fancy an inspirational book to listen to, I would recommend it.

New Boots

As I work in a school I am always on my feet and I must have asbestos feet as I go thought boots and shoes like anything. So it was that time again where I had to go shopping for some new ones.

I didn't have time to go round the shops and have a look but I did have time to look around online. I wanted something that will last the rest of winter and maybe a bit of next winter. I looked in a few places but Tesco came up with a pair that I liked the look of.

So I got them and had them delivered to my local store so that I could pick them up when I wanted. That's what I love about getting things from Tesco, I can pick them up when I want from where I want.
So here are my new babies, F&F Faux Suede Crepe Sole Boots. They are £25 and they look so comfy and I have to say they are. Normally I  have to break in boots but these ones I didn't, which I am glad about as I wore them as soon as I got home, to go to work in them.

As you can see, they have two buckles on the side just for decoration, but I like a bit of decoration on my shoes just to jazz them up a bit. It's only been a day of wearing them and I am very happy with them so far. They have already got dirty but that's because someone stepped on my foot, I just have to rub them down and they will be OK.

London Fun

So this goes with the one that was up on Monday. After our lovely night in the hotel we didn't actually go down for breakfast until 10AM, it was a buffet type breakfast where you could get cereal, a hot breakfast, fruit, pastries... all kinds of whatever you wanted. It was absolutely lovely, I really enjoyed it and I think the rest of the family loved that too.

After breakfast we went back to our room, took a selfie on the balcony as you do and we checked out at Midday. We thought we would make the day a it so we went into Canary Wharf shopping centre and did a little bit of shopping. We popped into Clinton's, Cath Kidston, Starbucks and a few other shops.

In Cath Kidston we got Little Miss P a pair of  hi-top trainers, they have a lovely flowery pattern on them. The trainers go very well with a little bag that she's got. They were £12 in the Sale, down from £20. After the shops we took a boat ride to the London Eye, we didn't go on it as we only went on it last year and it was a grey day so we wouldn't have got the best of views. So we had a look around and had a walk to Covent Garden. I really like just looking around and taking in everything in Covent Garden as there is so much going on. And I love people watching and that is a great place to people watch. I also popped into Paperchase and bought two things for Little Miss P for the holiday, a travel journal activity book and just another book to go with it for her to write in on the plane.

After Covent Garden we had a walk to Bank station to jump on the DLR so Little Miss P could ride the train and sit right at the front of it. By that time it was about 5:30 so we went from bank to Stratford and then jumped on the Central line home. Walking from Covent Garden to Bank we walked into a film set. Didn't actually realise we were walking through it until someone shouted "action" and then we realised so quickly went faster out of the shot. Little Miss P was amazed with it all because we saw the catering vans, the lights, cameras and all the equipment.

We did so much walking this weekend that my feet still hurt a little, but it was good for us. Even though it was raining through some of it, it was lovely. My hands went slightly numb but I did enjoy it all.
This seems to be a new tradition that happens at the beginning of the year so let's see if this will happen in 2017 as well. I think it depends if we have the money to do it or if we haven't got any major plans for 2017.

It's a great way start to the year so let's hope that 2016 can carry on being great.

Day in London

We had a lovely two days in London. It was a treat from Father Christmas (well, Mr P) and it was fantastic.

It all started on 2nd January where we had three tickets to go and see the Nutcracker on Ice and the other half got us amazing seats, we were looking down on everything. The ice skaters are brilliant and some of the moves they did scared the hell out of me as their faces went to close the blades. It could've been the end of their life but they are all amazing to watch. One of my favourite characters was the granny who was absolutely hilarious. She didn't have a main role or anything but she is one that stood out for me. It was at the Royal Albert Hall and it was the first time that little one has been there and I think she was amazed at the scale of the hall. But so am I every time I walk in there, it is just an amazing venue.

After the Nutcracker we went off to find our hotel, The Doubletree Hilton, Docklands Riverside. You had to get a little Riverboat over to it that goes every 10 mins from Canary Wharf. Mr P booked a lovely room for us, it was an Junior suite overlooking the river and right in front of us was Canary Wharf. Even though we was in the centre of London you overlook the river from the balcony, it was so peaceful you could've been anywhere. The hotel we stayed at gets extra brownie points from me and Little Miss P as when we arrived we got some free cookies, warm and gooey inside and they were so tasty.

That evening my mum met us at the hotel near Canary Wharf just for a bit of dinner, it was over the other side of the river so we had to get the boats back over to the restaurant. It was completely empty due to the fact that Canary Wharf area isn't busy at the weekends so it was lovely. And we all like a Zizzi in our family and for the first time in ages Summer actually ate her whole starter, main and dessert... she must've been hungry!

After that we just ended up going back to the hotel and in our room just chilling out watching a bit of telly and enjoying the views. I ended up going to sleep at about 11 but Little Miss P and Mr P ended up going to bed about 11.30ish. I did remember waking up in the night a few times and just looking out over London. It's a lovely hotel and wouldn't mind going back to it some point.

2016 Goals

It's 2016 so as I do every year, here are my Goals.

I will be doing it differently this year as I am going into real detail on each one and setting myself up monthly tasks to get to my biggest Goals. But for now I will keep it simple.

1) Keep up-to-date with my blog post and YouTube channel. It seems easy but it's really not. I couldn't keep it up last year (2015) so this year I hope I can.

2) By the end of 2016 I would love to earn £1,000 a month, not sure how that's going to happen at the moment but it's an aspiration.

3) Get up the website that I have been thinking about for the past two years and just haven't done anything about. This will be a little family project.

4) Carry on having a happy little family and spending time with each other.

Center Parcs 2015 - Winter Wonderland

I'm not sure if it's because I'm getting older or it is just getting worse. I love Center Parcs I've always loved it. I have learnt to ride my bike there and had lots of family fun and probably learnt to do a lot more when I was there, I just can't remember what right now. I have always loved it but this year I am not so sure.

We went to Center Parcs on Friday evening, we met Mr P from work to go straight from there yet we got there in really good time and my family was already there. We got our bags in and had a bit of food. After food we watched a few TV programmes and went to bed. We didn't book a lot as it is actually getting really expensive... you could probably go on a holiday abroad for the price of Center Parcs. It makes me crazy just thinking about it.

We booked an Elf Hunt where you make an Elf and she gives you a guide on what to do and at the end you find another Elf who gives you a chocolate lolly. It's a lovely little thing to do if it's not raining, just make sure you take an umbrella as it's mostly outside. Little Miss P and her cousin seemed to enjoy it and it was nice watching them do it. We also booked pottery. I picked a Father Christmas bowl and Little Miss P picked a small butterfly, just due to the fact that it's actually so expensive because you have to pay for the pot as well as the table space. I am sure they used to take the money off the pots that you put down for the table. They are the only things we booked.

The thing that I loved the most was swimming and we did lots of swimming, which is also the only free thing. I asked Little Miss P what she wanted to do and she said swimming so I'm very grateful to her for saying that! Little Miss P can now swim underwater... above water is still a bit of a problem, but we're getting there.

Not really sure what else to say about Center Parcs today.
